Review and correct what Sam remembers

Memory is the record of what Sam has learned about your business, and where you can review, correct, or remove any of it.

Sam builds this as you work. Every conversation, every file you share, and every connected platform adds to what your team knows. Memory is where you see that accumulating and step in when something is wrong.

Find it by selecting the profile icon in the bottom left corner, choosing Settings, then Memory.

Insights

Insights are things Sam has worked out, written as plain statements. Something you clarified in a conversation, or what Sam took from a file you shared.

Each entry shows what Sam learned, what kind of insight it is, its status, and when it was created. Search to find something specific, or filter by status.

Statuses are confirmed and provisional. Provisional marks something Sam is less certain about, often because it came from a single passing remark rather than something established.

Select the pencil on any entry to edit it. You can rewrite the content and change its status. Select the trash icon to remove it, or tick several entries and delete them together.

Facts

Facts are specific values rather than statements. Your email platform, a subscriber count, an account identifier. Each one is a single piece of information Sam can look up.

Each fact has a name, its value, the domain it belongs to, and when it was last updated. Domains group facts by the area of work they relate to, and you can filter by domain or search by name.

Facts can be edited and deleted the same way as insights.

Activity

Activity is the history of what has changed. Work your team carried out, and settings that were updated.

Setting changes record what the value was before and what it became, which makes this the place to look when something about your business seems to have shifted and you want to know when and why.

Importing Knowledge

You do not have to wait for Sam to learn things. Select Import to add knowledge directly.

Give the import a source name, something like Company handbook or Meeting notes, so you can recognize it later. Then either paste your text, up to 50,000 characters, or upload a file.

Supported file types are TXT, MD, JSON, PDF, DOCX, and CSV, up to 10 MB each.

This is worth doing with material your website would never reveal: your brand guidelines, past campaign results, customer research, or the internal knowledge that usually lives in someone's head.

The Imports tab lists everything you have imported and when.

Memory and Your Business Profile

Both hold what Sam knows, in different shapes.

Your business profile is structured, a fixed set of fields about your business that Sam works to complete. Memory is open-ended, accumulating whatever comes up as you work.

Use your business profile to get the fundamentals right. Use memory to review what Sam has picked up along the way and correct anything that has drifted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between insights and facts?

A: Insights are statements about your business that Sam worked out. Facts are specific values, such as which email platform you use or a subscriber count.

Q: Sam has something wrong about my business. How do I fix it?

A: Find it in Insights or Facts, select the pencil, and correct it. If it should not be there at all, delete it instead.

Q: What does provisional mean?

A: Sam is less certain about that one, usually because it came from something in passing rather than an established source. You can confirm it by editing the entry and changing its status.

Q: Can I delete several things at once?

A: Yes. Tick the entries you want and delete them together.

Q: Can I teach Sam something directly?

A: Yes, two ways. Tell it in a conversation, or use Import to paste text or upload a file. Import is the better route for anything substantial, such as brand guidelines or past campaign results.

Q: What can I upload?

A: TXT, MD, JSON, PDF, DOCX, and CSV files up to 10 MB each. You can also paste text directly, up to 50,000 characters.

Q: How is this different from my business profile?

A: Your business profile is a structured set of fields about your business. Memory is everything else Sam has picked up as you work. Both shape what your team produces.
