Get your first win in one session

You have an AI marketing team. Here's how to get useful work out of it in your first session.

Sam works best when it knows your business and can reach your tools. Everything below builds toward that, and you will have something real to show for it along the way.

Step 1 - Finish Setting Up

If you skipped setup or stopped partway, go back and finish it. Finish setup in your left navigation takes you there.

The website scan is the single highest-value thing you can do. It fills in your brand, your products, and how you talk about your business, which means everything your team makes afterward sounds like you instead of sounding generic.

Setting Up Sam

Step 2 - Connect a Few Tools

You do not need to connect everything. Two or three of the right ones changes the quality of the work immediately.

Pick based on what you want help with:

  • Running ads? Connect Meta, Google Ads, or TikTok Ads.
  • Posting organically? Connect the social platforms you actually use.
  • Selling something? Connect your store or payment platform.
  • Emailing a list? Connect your email platform.

The difference is real. Without connections, your team works from what you have described. With them, it works from what is actually happening in your business, including your real numbers.

Find them under Connect your tools at the bottom of the left navigation.

Step 3 - Run a Playbook

This is the fastest way to see what your team can do. Playbooks are complete jobs packaged up, so you get a finished deliverable without briefing anyone.

Open Sam AI, go to the Playbooks tab on the right, and try one of these:

  • Quick Wins looks at everything Sam knows about your business and hands you the fastest improvements available right now.
  • Make SAM Smarter shows you what Sam does not know yet, which tells you exactly what to fix or connect next.
  • Growth Plan builds you a 90-day plan from where your business actually is.

Every specialist has its own playbooks too, built for its own area. If you already know you want ad creative or social posts, go straight to that specialist and look at what it offers.

Step 4 - Tell Sam What You Actually Want

Now open Sam AI and describe what you are trying to achieve. Not a task, the actual goal.

Sam works out what needs to happen, decides which specialists to involve, and brings the finished work back to you. You do not have to know who should do what.

Good things to say in a first conversation:

  • What you sell and who buys it
  • What you are trying to grow right now
  • What has worked before and what has not
  • What is coming up, such as a launch or a promotion

Everything you tell Sam here sticks, so this is not a wasted conversation. It is you briefing a team.

Sam or a Specialist?

This is the thing most people wonder about, and the rule is simple.

Go to Sam when you have a goal. Sam is a planner and an orchestrator. Bring it something like "I want more people on my email list" or "I need to launch this product next month" and it works out the pieces and delegates them.

Go to a specialist when you know exactly what you want made. Specialists give you quick, prescriptive output in their own area. "Write me three ad hooks" or "make me an Instagram carousel about this" is specialist territory.

If you are not sure which, go to Sam. Routing the work is its job.

Where Your Work Goes

Everything your team makes lands in the Workbench, the panel on the right of whatever chat you are in. From there you can edit text, download files, and turn written content into a designed page or ebook.

It is also collected in My Media in the left navigation, so nothing gets lost in a conversation you have moved on from.

Once You're Comfortable

Two things worth doing after your first session.

Set up an automation. Anything you find yourself asking for repeatedly can run on a schedule instead. Describe it to Sam and it will set it up.

Check your business profile. As Sam learns, it records what it knows about your business. Correcting anything wrong there improves everything your team produces afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I start?

A: Finish setup, connect two or three tools you actually use, then run a playbook from Sam AI to see what your team produces. That gets you something useful in one sitting.

Q: Should I talk to Sam or a specialist?

A: Sam when you have a goal and want it worked out for you. A specialist when you know exactly what you want made. If you are unsure, go to Sam.

Q: Do I have to connect my accounts?

A: No, but it makes a real difference. Connected platforms let your team work from your actual data instead of a description of it.

Q: What should I say in my first conversation?

A: What you sell, who buys it, and what you are trying to grow. Sam takes it from there, and what you tell it carries forward.

Q: Will Sam do things without asking me?

A: No. Your team produces work and you decide what happens to it. Even automations only run because you set them up.

Q: What if I do not like what my team produced?

A: Say so in the chat and ask for changes. If the problem is that Sam has something wrong about your business, correct it in your business profile so it does not happen again.
