Connect Google Analytics and Sam can answer traffic questions from your real GA4 data: your top pages last week, where visitors came from, and who is on your site right now. The connection is read-only.
What Sam can look up in Google Analytics
- The GA4 accounts and properties your Google account can see
- Custom reports on pageviews, sessions, top pages, countries and traffic sources
- Who is on your site right now, and what they're looking at
What Sam can't do in Google Analytics yet
- Change your Google Analytics settings, goals or events.
Connect Google Analytics
- →A Google account with access to your GA4 properties.
Step 1 - Open the integrations marketplace
Select Connect your tools at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your profile. Search for Google Analytics or find it under Browse Integrations.
Step 2 - Sign in and approve
Select Connect. Sam shows what it will be able to do, then sends you to Google Analytics's own sign-in page. Sign in with the account you want Sam to work in and approve the access.
Step 3 - Name it and choose who can use it
Give the connection a name, choose who on your team can use it, and select Finish setup. It moves to your Connected tab.
Once connected, ask Sam to list your properties, then ask for a report on one of them. For example: "Show me last week's top pages."
When you connect, you may see a screen of checkboxes, and some are easy to scroll past. Sam can only do what you allow. If you untick one, the matching actions in the list above will fail with a permission error.
If Sam says it can't reach Google Analytics later on, see When Sam can't reach one of your tools.
