Paste a Meta Pixel, Google tag or any other tracking code into a page's settings and it loads every time someone visits that page.
Every page has two boxes for this: one for code that belongs in the page's head, and one for code that loads at the end of the page. Whatever you paste goes onto the published page exactly as you entered it.
- →A page in Webpages. See Publish a page Sam built.
- →The tracking code you want to add, copied from the tool that gave it to you. For a Meta Pixel that is the base code from Meta Events Manager.
Step 1 - Open the page's settings
Go to Webpages, open the three-dot menu at the end of the page's row and select Settings.
If you already have the page open in the editor, the gear icon in the editor toolbar opens the same settings.
Step 2 - Paste your code
Scroll to Tracking & Pixels at the bottom of Page Settings.
- Header scripts: code that the tool tells you to place in the
<head>of your page. Meta Pixel and Google tag base codes go here. - Footer scripts: code that should load just before the closing
</body>tag, such as chat widgets or anything the tool says to load last.
Paste the code in full, including its <script> and <noscript> tags. You can add several snippets to the same box, one after another.
Step 3 - Save
Select Save Settings. If the page is already published, the code is on the live page within about a minute. You do not need to use Publish Changes for this. If the page is still a draft, the code goes live when you publish it.
- ✓Your tracking code loading on every visit to the published page.
- ✓Visits showing up in the tool the code came from, such as Meta Events Manager.
- →Open the live page, then check the tool's own testing view. For Meta, that is Test events in Events Manager, or the Meta Pixel Helper browser extension.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to add the code to every page?
Yes. Scripts are saved per page, so add your code to each page you want to track.
Header or footer: which box should I use?
Follow the instructions from the tool that gave you the code. If it says to place the code in the head, use Header scripts. If it says the end of the body, use Footer scripts.
Do I have to republish the page after saving?
No. Saved scripts reach a published page on their own within about a minute.
Can I add more than one pixel?
Yes. Paste each snippet into the same box, one after the other.
Is there a size limit?
Each box holds up to 65,535 characters, which is far more than a typical tracking snippet.
How do I remove a pixel?
Open the page's Settings, delete the code from the box and select Save Settings.
