Connect Google Ads and your Ads Specialist can read real spend, clicks and conversions, so what it recommends comes from your own campaign history rather than a guess. Here is how to add the connection, and what Sam can and cannot do with it.
- →A Google account with access to the Google Ads account you want to connect
- →Permission to grant access on that account. If someone else owns it, they will need to do this step.
Step 1 - Open the integrations marketplace
Select Connect your tools at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your profile. It is there on every page, so you never have to hunt for it.
The marketplace opens on Integrations. Give it your website and it will scan for tools you already use and list them for one-tap connecting. Underneath, Browse Integrations is the full library, filterable by category.
Step 2 - Find Google Ads and start the connection
Search google and open Google Ads. Its Details table shows Oauth2, which means you approve access by signing in to Google rather than by pasting a key.
Step 3 - Approve the access
Select Connect. Sam shows you exactly what it will be able to do before anything happens, then hands you to Google to sign in. Sam never sees your Google password, and you can revoke access at any time from the Integrations page.
Sign in on Google's own page and approve the request. You are returned to Sam automatically.
Step 4 - Name the connection and add your customer ID
Back in Sam, give the connection a name you will recognise, then choose who can use it and which business lines it covers. Google Ads needs one more thing: your Customer ID, the number in the top-right of your Google Ads dashboard. Select Finish setup.
A connection that is signed in but still missing the customer ID shows Setup Required. It is not broken — it just needs that last field before your specialists can use it.
- ✓Straight away, your specialists can read your campaigns and ad performance instead of asking you to paste numbers in.
- ✓In every report, the figures come from this account rather than an estimate.
- ✓Whenever you want, you can disconnect from the same page — access stops immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I connect more than one account?
Yes. Open the integration again and choose Add Another Connection. Each connection is named separately, so give them names you will recognise later.
Who on my team can use the connection?
Whatever you chose under Access when you named it — only you, everyone on the account, or specific people. You can change it afterwards from the same screen.
How do I know it actually works?
Each connection has a Test button. A connection that still needs something shows Setup Required or Pending Auth next to its name.
