- →A Thinkific Grow plan or above. Thinkific only gives API access on those plans.
Step 1 - Create an API key in Thinkific
- In your Thinkific admin, go to Settings > Code & Analytics > API.
- Generate an API key and copy it.
- Note your site subdomain: the your-school part of your-school.thinkific.com. Sam asks for it alongside the key.
Step 2 - Open the integrations marketplace
Select Connect your tools at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your profile. Search for Thinkific or find it under Browse Integrations.
Step 3 - Paste it in and connect
Select Thinkific, paste what you copied into the fields Sam shows, and select Connect. Once it succeeds, it moves to your Connected tab.
When you connect, you may see a screen of checkboxes, and some are easy to scroll past. Sam can only do what you allow. If you untick one, the matching actions in the list above will fail with a permission error.
If Sam says it can't reach Thinkific later on, see When Sam can't reach one of your tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Sam enrol people who buy through SamCart?
Yes. Give Sam the buyer's email and the course, and it finds or creates the student and enrols them.
Can Sam give someone lifetime access again after it expired?
Sam can extend access to any future date. Switching an enrolment back to lifetime access isn't confirmed to work, so set a date far in the future instead.
