  • Update an order, such as marking it completed

What Sam can't do in WooCommerce yet

  • Issue refunds yet.
  • Delete products or orders yet.

Connect WooCommerce

What you'll need
  • →Admin access to your WordPress site.
  • →A site served over HTTPS. Sites on plain HTTP won't connect.

Step 1 - Create REST API keys in WordPress

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API.
  2. Select Add Key, enter a description such as Sam, and set Permissions to Read/Write.
  3. Select Generate API Key, then copy the Consumer Key (starts with ck_) and Consumer Secret (starts with cs_). You'll also need your store URL.

Step 2 - Open the integrations marketplace

Select Connect your tools at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your profile. Search for WooCommerce or find it under Browse Integrations.

Step 3 - Paste it in and connect

Select WooCommerce, paste what you copied into the fields Sam shows, and select Connect. Once it succeeds, it moves to your Connected tab.

Leave every permission ticked

When you connect, you may see a screen of checkboxes, and some are easy to scroll past. Sam can only do what you allow. If you untick one, the matching actions in the list above will fail with a permission error.

If Sam says it can't reach WooCommerce later on, see When Sam can't reach one of your tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does it need Read/Write permission?
Read access is enough for reports. Sam needs write access to add products, update them and change order status. With a read-only key, those actions fail.

My store isn't on HTTPS. Can I still connect?
No. The keys would travel unencrypted, so the connection only works over HTTPS.
