Use Circle with Sam

Connect Circle and Sam can work with your community: see who is active, what people are posting, who is coming to events and what is selling, then invite members, tag them, add them to spaces and publish posts.

Connect Circle

What you'll need
  • →A Circle Business plan or above. Circle only offers its Admin API on Business and higher.
  • →Admin access to your Circle community.

Step 1 - Create an Admin API token in Circle

  1. In your Circle community settings, go to Developers > Tokens.
  2. Create an Admin API token and copy it.
  3. When you paste it into Sam, leave out the word "Token". Sam adds it for you.

Step 2 - Open the integrations marketplace

Select Connect your tools at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your profile. Search for Circle or find it under Browse Integrations.

Step 3 - Paste it in and connect

Select Circle, paste what you copied into the fields Sam shows, and select Connect. Once it succeeds, it moves to your Connected tab.

Leave every permission ticked

When you connect, you may see a screen of checkboxes, and some are easy to scroll past. Sam can only do what you allow. If you untick one, the matching actions in the list above will fail with a permission error.

If Sam says it can't reach Circle later on, see When Sam can't reach one of your tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

I run more than one Circle community. Can Sam see them all?
One connection covers one community. Create a token in each community and add each as a separate connection.

Will Sam post in my community without asking?
Sam posts when you ask it to. If you want to check a post first, ask Sam to show you the text before it publishes, or to schedule it for later.
