Use Vercel with Sam

Connect Vercel and Sam can keep an eye on your projects: check whether a deployment succeeded, list your domains, and redeploy when you ask. Redeploying waits for you to confirm first.

What Sam can look up in Vercel

  • Your projects and their details
  • Your deployments and the status of each one
  • The domains on your account

What Sam can do in Vercel

  • Redeploy an existing deployment. Asks you first.

Anything marked Asks you first pauses and waits for you to confirm before it runs.

What Sam can't do in Vercel yet

  • Create projects or change domain and project settings yet.

Connect Vercel

What you'll need
  • →A Vercel account with access to the projects you want Sam to see.

Step 1 - Create a token in Vercel

  1. In Vercel, go to Account Settings > Tokens.
  2. Create a new token and copy it.

Step 2 - Open the integrations marketplace

Select Connect your tools at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your profile. Search for Vercel or find it under Browse Integrations.

Step 3 - Paste it in and connect

Select Vercel, paste what you copied into the fields Sam shows, and select Connect. Once it succeeds, it moves to your Connected tab.

Leave every permission ticked

When you connect, you may see a screen of checkboxes, and some are easy to scroll past. Sam can only do what you allow. If you untick one, the matching actions in the list above will fail with a permission error.

If Sam says it can't reach Vercel later on, see When Sam can't reach one of your tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Sam redeploy without asking?
No. Redeploying always stops and asks you to confirm first.

Can Sam see my team's projects?
It sees the projects your token can reach, so create the token with access to the team or projects you want Sam to work with.
