Sam is your Chief of Staff, and five team members do the hands-on marketing work.
Tell Sam what you want and let it hand the work out, or go straight to a team member and work with it directly. Both work, so use whichever suits the task. Sam and each team member are in the sidebar.
Meet the team
Sam is your Chief of Staff. It learns about your business from what you tell it and what you connect, works out what marketing needs to happen, and hands each piece to the right team member. See Tell Sam what you want and let it delegate.
Under Team in the sidebar are your five team members:
- Ad Buyer: paid campaigns across Facebook, Google, YouTube and TikTok, covering creative audits, ad copy, budget and bidding, and ROAS tracking. See The Ad Buyer.
- Content Writer: blogs, newsletters, lead magnets and SEO content, plus content calendars and editorial plans. See The Content Writer.
- Designer: ad images, video, thumbnails, carousels and brand assets. See The Designer.
- Promoter: product launches, email sequences, offer copy, pricing and checkout optimization. See The Promoter.
- Social Manager: organic content for Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and YouTube, including scheduling, content pillars and captions. See The Social Manager.
How the work gets divided
Each team member writes the words for its own area. The Designer makes the pictures.
When the Ad Buyer, Content Writer, Promoter or Social Manager produces something that needs an image or video, it hands that work to the Designer, which creates the visual to go with it. The Designer is the only team member that creates visuals, which is also why it is the one to ask when you want a visual on its own.
Seeing the handoff happen
You can watch work move between your team:
- A dot appears next to a team member's name in the sidebar while it works on something.
- Each piece of work handed over appears in Work under Tasks, with its full brief and status.
- In the chat, select the line showing what your team is doing to open a panel with the team member, its progress and its activity.
Two ways to give your team work
Through Sam. Select SAM at the top of the sidebar and describe what you want. Sam decides who to involve and hands out the work, so you do not have to brief each team member yourself. This is the easier route when you are not sure who should do what.
Straight to a team member. Select any team member under Team and work with it one on one. This is quicker when you already know exactly what you want made.
You are not required to route everything through Sam, and you are not locked into one team member. Whichever route you take, the team works at your direction.
What's in each conversation
Every chat has the same controls along the top: the model menu, Files for your recent files, New for a fresh conversation, and ··· for that team member's settings, covering its skills, tools, connected apps, automations, results and personality. See Set up how a specialist works.
Your team's playbooks, ready-made jobs you run in one click, are under Playbooks in the sidebar. See Run a campaign in one click.
Where your finished work goes
Anything your team makes appears as a card in the chat. Select it to open, edit, download or design it. See Find and edit what Sam made.
The same work is collected in Content: images, videos and documents under Media, and pages under Pages.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many team members does Sam have?
Five: Ad Buyer, Content Writer, Designer, Promoter and Social Manager. Sam is separate from the five and coordinates them.
What happened to the Ads Specialist, Content Specialist and the others?
They are the same team with new names. The Ads Specialist is now the Ad Buyer, the Content Specialist is the Content Writer, the Designer Specialist is the Designer, the Promotions Specialist is the Promoter, and the Social Media Specialist is the Social Manager. What each one does has not changed.
What is the difference between Sam and the team members?
Sam plans the work and decides who does it. The team members do the hands-on work in their own area.
Do I have to talk to each team member separately?
No. Tell Sam what you want and it hands the work to the right team members for you.
Can I use just one, like only the Designer?
Yes. Select it under Team and work with it on its own.
How do the images and videos for my ads and posts get made?
The Designer makes them. When another team member's work needs a visual, it hands that work to the Designer.
Which one writes my emails?
It depends on the email. The Promoter handles sequences tied to launches and offers. The Content Writer handles newsletters. If you are not sure, ask Sam.
How do I know a team member is working on something?
A dot appears next to its name in the sidebar, and the job is listed in Work under Tasks.
